VAI Studio ("we", "us", "our") is a solo-run studio based in Sydney, Australia. This policy explains how we handle the personal information you provide through this site, consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
By contacting us through this site, you agree to your information being handled as described below.
1. Information we collect
We only collect what you send us through our contact form: your name (optional), email address, the topic you choose, and your message.
Our hosting provider also records standard technical logs (such as IP address and browser type) to keep the site secure and running. We do not use analytics or advertising trackers.
2. Why we use it
We use your information solely to read and reply to your enquiry and to discuss the services you ask about. We do not sell your information, and we do not add you to marketing lists without your consent.
3. Who we share it with, and overseas disclosure
To run this site and receive your messages, we rely on two trusted service providers:
- Vercel — website hosting and delivery.
- Slack — your enquiry reaches us as a Slack notification.
These providers are based in the United States, so your information may be stored or processed overseas. We share your information only as needed to deliver and respond to your enquiry.
4. How we protect it
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, including transport encryption (HTTPS) and access controls. No online service can be guaranteed completely secure, but we handle your details with care.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your enquiry for as long as needed to respond and to maintain a record of our correspondence, and we remove it when it is no longer needed.
6. Access, correction, and complaints
You can ask us to access or correct the personal information we hold about you, or to delete it — just contact us through the form on this site.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle your information, you can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
7. Cookies
We use a single functional cookie to remember your language choice (English or Japanese). It is not used for tracking, and you can clear it in your browser at any time.
